Feria how long leave on

I have never tried doing a box color on top of my bleached hair. I was interested in giving it a try to see if it might brighten my hair and tone down any orange. Too good to be true? Probably, but I bought it anyway. Plus the shade number is It was a done deal. It is also unique because it includes the Aromatic Shimmer Serum which adds a quite pleasant scent to the process, much better than the usual stinky odor of typical hair color!

Considering my very thick and stubborn hair with plenty of grays I always leave the hair color on for the maximum time, sometimes longer. I am only sharing what I do. From many years of home hair color I know what it takes for my best possible color result.

So keep in mind that I had bleached my hair just about 3 days before I tried this Feria Blonde color. I should mention that the section of hair shown with the bobby pin did end up with a slight blue tint because that was the very lightest of my hair already. No matter how little time I leave it on, the purple shampoos always leave my hair with a blue tint. The Power Shimmer Conditioner is such a nice addition to this hair color.

Rinse and lather your hair until the water is clear. Apply the Shimmer Boost Conditioner. Leave it on for two minutes. Style your hair as usual. Tip Do a strand test before you color to get an idea of how long to leave the mixture in for your desired hair color. Thick or long hair may require two boxes of color. Drape a towel over your shoulders to protect clothing and floor.

No need to shampoo. Warning Before you color, mix a small amount of formula and apply a quarter-sized amount to the inside of your elbow. Color may stain fabric.

Leaving it for too long can make your hair too dry and weak, and eventually breaks off. Timing is 30 minutes for standard color application; 45 minutes for maximum gray coverage and for high-lift shades.

Typically, with permanent color, the first 15 minutes provide time for the peroxide and ammonia to open the cuticle and penetrate into the cortex to lighten natural pigment. The answer is YES, you should always cover your hair when you dye it. For your hair to absorb the pigment in the dye, you need to mix it with hydrogen peroxide, known as a developer.

The developer reacts to heat. Step 3: Temperature This is why some hair dyes will suggest covering your head or applying heat while the color sets. Skip to content Popular. April 23, Joe Ford. Table of Contents.
